Deep Survival

I’ve just finished reading Deep Survival, Who Lives, Who Dies, and Why, an excellent book by Laurence Gonzales. I want to do a more thorough review, but am swamped with the chaos caused by the upcoming move.

Boiled down to it’s essence, here’s what survivors do:
1. Perceive, believe.
2. Stay Calm.
3. Think/Analyze/Plan.
4. Take correct, decisive action (be bold and cautious while carrying out tasks).
5. Celebrate your successes.
6. Count your blessings.
7. Play.
8. See the beauty.
9. Believe you will succeed.
10. Surrender.
11. Do whatever is necessary.
12. Never give up.

All during the survival event.

If you have a chance to read this book, don’t pass it up!
